BODY THROWN INTO THE RIVER TO HIDE EVIDENCE

ARA------------------------------Bhojpur police after the arrest of Gorakh Kumar son of Raj Kishore Prasad of Jaitpur village, solved the mystery of death of youth working in the Merchant Navy Hritik Kumar. The youth was missing from Jaitpur village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district. He was electrocuted to death while stealing electrical wires with his friends. His friends had thrown his body into the river Banas to hide evidence. It came to light after the police arrested Aman Kumar and interrogated him. The police also recovered a cutter used for cutting wires, a pair of slippers used for climbing the electric poles, a T-shirt and a ganji. However, police are conducting raids to arrest the rest two friends of the deceased.

ASP Parichay Kumar said that Hrithik Kumar son of Arun Kumar Singh alias Pawan Kumar Singh of Jaitpur village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district was missing since September 2, 2024 night and an FIR was lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station regarding his missing on the statement of his father Arun Kumar Singh.

After institution of FIR, the police swung into action and the police started investigating the matter. Meanwhile, the police recovered the body from the Banas river in Barka Gaon, Akhtarpur of Gajrajganj police outpost area on September 4, 2024. Taking the matter seriously, Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav formed a police team under the SHO Udwantnagar police station Ram Kalyan Ram. The police team following scientific and technical methods started investigating the matter. The police took out the Call Detailed Report of the deceased mobile and the name of Gorakh Kumar of his village figured and on that basis the police arrested him. The ASP further said that during interrogation, Gorakh Kumar confessed before the police that he along with Aditya Kumar, Aman Kumar and Hrithik Kumar of the same village had gone ot Ayer police station area on a motorcycle on September 2, 2024 night to steal the electric wire. They were cutting the electric wife by climbing the electric pole when Hrithik Kumar electrocuted and died on the spot. After that, to erase evidence, they loaded body of the Hrithik Kumar on the motorcycle and reached Asani village and threw his body into the Banas river from the Bridge itself. The ASP further stated that the police are conducting raids to arrest the rest two friends of the deceased. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard and the police sent Gorakh Kumar to jail.
