ARA------------------------The car of BJP leader Rakesh Ojha was overtaken and fired upon near Bharouli village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district when he was returning from a function in the late evening on April 15, 2025. An FIR was lodged with the police under Shahpur police against three named namely Shiv Jeet Mishra of Sonbarsa village, Kishun Mishra and former PACS president, Sant Mishra of Bharouli village and some unknown persons in this regard on the statement of the BJP leader Rakesh Ojha. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The incident posed a challenge for the local police administration.

The BJP leader Rakesh Ojha had gone to Bharouli village under Shahpur police station to attend a function on April 15, 2025 and when he was returning, some armed miscreants overtook his car near Gopibaba temple on Karnamepur Mor and fired indiscriminately on him. Though Rakesh Ojha had a narrow escape but his car was badly damaged in the firing. In the FIR, Rakesh Ojha said that Shiv Jeet Mishra, Kishun Mishra and Sant Mishra are behind the attack citing past enmity. He said that three to four rounds were fired on him. On information, the police rushed to the spot and started investigating the matter. Rakesh Ojha demanded a fair investigation and also urged to take action against the culprits at the earliest.

The incident is being linked to a previous rivalry in which Rakesh Ojha’s father and former BJP State Vice-President, Visheshwar Ojha was murdered in the year 2016.

It is worth mentioning here that this incident once again refreshes possibility of further increasing the political and personal rivalry already present in the area. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident and is posing challenge to the police. People are apprehending that a new war may once again occur in the area. SHO Shahpur police station Kumar Rajanikant said that the police are investigating the matter and the culprits would be very soon arrested.
