BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHARAJA AGRASEN CELEBRATED WITH POMP AT ARA
Under the banner of Agrasen Samiti, Ara, birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen, ancestor of Agrawal Community, was celebrated with great pomp and show. Hundreds of people from Agrawal community assembled at Maina Sundari Bhawan Dharmshala today and offered prayer. First of all they worshiped their ancestor and garlanded the portrait of Maharaja Agrasen. Later prasad was distributed among the people.

ARA-------------------------Under the banner of Agrasen Samiti, Ara, birth anniversary of Maharaja Agrasen, ancestor of Agrawal Community, was celebrated with great pomp and show. Hundreds of people from Agrawal community assembled at Maina Sundari Bhawan Dharmshala today and offered prayer. First of all they worshiped their ancestor and garlanded the portrait of Maharaja Agrasen. Later prasad was distributed among the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Agrawal brethren said that Maharaja Agrasen was Indian Emperor of Agroha in Haryana, a city of traders. He is one of the descendants of the Hindu deity, Lord Ram’s elder son, Kusha. He is credited with establishment of a kingdom of traders in North India Agroha and is known for his compassion in refusing to slaughter animals in Yagyas. Goddess Mahalakshmi was the Kul Devi (prime Goddess) of the Kshatriya king and she also gave her word of bestowing prosperity there for him and his descendants. In his honour, the government of India had issued a postage stamp in the year 1976.
They further said that ‘Agrasen ki Baoli in New Delhi was built in the 14th century by the Agrawal community which traces its origin to King Agrasen. It is believed that the original structure was built by the king Agrasen during the Mahabharat epic era.
President of Agrasen Samiti, Dhirendra Jain, Secretary, Manish Agrawal, Alakh Narayan Agrawal, Jai Prakash Agrawal, Dinesh Kumar, Ashok Singhania, Anil Kumar Jain, Hemant Agrawal, Krishna Madho Agrawal, Himanshu Das, Prakhar, Chhote Lal Agrawal and others were present on the occasion.
