ARA--------------------------Floral tributes were paid to the former Chief Minister, Bihar Pandit Bindeshwari Dubey to mark his 99th birth anniversary at Ara Collectorate. The programme was organized under the banner of Swatantrata Senani Memorial Trust and Pandit Bindeshwari Dubey Charitable Trust. The leaders, social workers, teachers and professors garlanded the statue of Pandit Bindeshwari Dubey and presided over by Prof. Baliraj Thakur.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof, Baliraj Thakur, describing Pandit Bindeshwari Dubey as the lifeblood of the labour movement, said that the dreamer Bindeshwari Dubey came out of the black room of politics spotless. He called him a true patriot and added that a man as sacrificial as him is rarely found and his contribution to the freedom movement and the struggle for workers’ rights is indelible.

Other leaders while discussing his virtues threw light on his personality and work and said that the contribution of Pandit Bindeshwari Dubey, resident of Mahuaon village of Bihia block in Bhojpur district, is indelible in Indian politics and society. The leaders further said that his fight for independence, struggle for workers’ rights, his tenure as Chief Minister of Bihar between Marh 12, 1985 to February 13, 1988 and many reforms for the weaker sections of the society, his working style and ideology are an inspiration for today’s leaders. Pandit Jee was considered very close to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who also respected him. Bindeshwari Dubey was made the Union Labour and Law Minister in the year 1988-89 when he was Prime Minister.
