ARA---------------------------Bhojpur police seized a big consignment of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about lakhs of rupees from a truck from near Bampali under Gajrajganj police station on Ara-Buxar main road and arrested the driver of the truck. The arrested driver was identified as Vikas Kumar of Malikpur village in Vaishali district though another person somehow escaped from the scene. The IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh and was to be delivered in Chhapara.
ASP Parichay Kumar said that he got information that a big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh in a truck via National Highway 922 through Gajrajganj police outpost. He at once formed a police team under the probationer DSP Rashmi Kumari. The police team launched vehicle checking drive near Bampali. Seeing the police people jumped off the truck and tried to escape though the police chased and caught one person. The police when searched the truck recovered 8568 bottles of IMFL worth about of lakhs of rupees and seized the mobile. The ASP said that the police are conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers on the revelation of the arrested person. An FIR was lodged with the police under the Gajrajganj police outpost in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police sent him to jail after interrogation.
