BHOJPUR POLICE SEIZE LIQUOR AND ARREST SIX LIQUOR SMUGGLERS

ARA (RNI) At the direction of Bhojpur DM on the occasion of festival of colour, the Excise Department launched anti-liquor campaign and seized 876 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 210 litre of country made liquor worth about Rs. 12 lakh from different places and arrested six liquor smugglers. A named FIR was lodged with the police under different police stations under the New Excise Act against them and the police sent them to jail after interrogation.

Assistant Excise Commissioner said that during patrolling, the police intercepted a 10-wheel truck near Ratanpur Over Bridge on Buxar-Patna main road. Seeing the police the driver escaped from the scene. When searched, the police seized 876 litre of IMFL.

In another incident, the police, acting on a tip off, seized a liquor smuggler and seized 150 litre of country made liquor loaded on a Scooter from Anand Nagar Ward No 36 under Ara town police station. The arrested liquor smuggler was identified as Yogendra Kumar.

The police also seized 60 litre of country made liquor loaded on a motorcycle and arrested two liquor smugglers Dhanraj Kumar and Amar Dayal Kumar from near Kaura Middle School under Jagdishpur police station.

The police also arrested three liquor smugglers and seized 2250 litre of liquor from them from near Hasan Bazaar Saraswati Rice Mill on Ara-Sasaram main road. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Niranjan Yadav, Arvind Paswan and Hari Narayan Yadav.
