-Bhojpur police, acting on a tip off, seized two rifles, 123 live cartridges and 38 missed fire cartridges from a field near a Sand Ghat at Mahui village under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district though the Sand smugglers managed to escape from the scene. It is supposed that the sand smugglers were planning to commit crime somewhere.

ARA-------------------------Bhojpur police, acting on a tip off, seized two rifles, 123 live cartridges and 38 missed fire cartridges from a field near a Sand Ghat at Mahui village under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district though the Sand smugglers managed to escape from the scene. It is supposed that the sand smugglers were planning to commit crime somewhere. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Koelwar police station in this regard against three persons including the owner of the sand ghat. The FIR was lodged against Akhilesh Ram, Yogendra Bind of Mahadevchak-Semariya village under Koelwar police station and Ram Prasad Ram of Shaligram Tola (Neknam Tola) under Badahara police station in Bhojpur district. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the named accused.
Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that he got information that some armed miscreants were hatching plan on the road from Mahadevchak-Semaria village to Mahui Sand Ghat to commit some crime. He at once formed a police team under the SDPO-2 Ranjeet Kumar Singh. The police team conducted raid and seized two irregular rifles, 123 live cartridges 38 missed fire cartridges from the field of Yogendra Bind though the Sand smugglers escaped from the scene. The SP further said that the sand smugglers had kept firearms and ammunition merely to unleash reign of terror in the area. He said that four cases are pending against Akhilesh Rai in connection with illegal sand mining.
