BHOJPUR POLICE SEIZE AK-47 RIFLE, LIVE CARTRIDGES, HAND GRENADE FROM THE HOUSE OF AN AWARDEE OF Rs. 2 LAKH BUTAN CHAUDHARY AT BELAUR VILLAGE IN BHOJPUR

ARA-------------------------Bhojpur police seized AK-47 and hand grenade from the house of a dreaded criminal and awardee of Rs. 2 lakh Butan Chaudhary at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district. Though Butan Chaudhary could not be arrested, the police arrested his brother Upendra Chaudhary. Urmila Devi wife of Upendra Chaudhary is the Mukhia of Belaur panchayat. She said that they had not link with Butan Chaudhary who had killed their son and now he was trying to intimate her husband. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station against Butan Chaudhary and Upendra Chaudhary. Both brothers have criminal background and over six criminal cases are pending against them. Butan Chaudhary had been in jail in connection with murder of BDC member of Belaur panchayat and had come out of jail three months ago on bail.

Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that the police got information that AK-47 rifle and hand grenade are kept in the house of Butan Chaudhary at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station. He at once asked the Udwantnagar police and the STF take action in this regard. The Udwantnagar police and the STF jointly conducted raid in the house of Butan Chaudhary at Belaur village in the night and recovered one AK-47, two magazines loaded with 43 live cartridges of the AK-47, two hand grenades and two magazines of INSANS rifle. The SP said that on the basis of the number, police are investigating the AK-47 rifle through other agencies.

The SP said that on March 4, 2016, the police had conducted raid in the house of Butan Chaudhary at Belaur village and had recovered one AK-47 rifle, three pistols, 29 live cartridges of AK-47 rifle and 31 live cartridges of rifles from the house and had arrested five miscreants including Butan Chaudhary and his elder brother Upendra Chaudhary when they had gone to attend a marriage ceremony. The police had said at that time that Butan Chaudhary was exhibiting the AK-47 in the area for dominance during the election. The court had awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment to Butan Chaudhary, four years rigorous imprisonment to his elder brother Upendra Chaudhary and three years rigorous imprisonment to others.

Butan Chaudhary had a long criminal history and at present he is absconding in connection with murder of BDC member of Belaur panchayat Deepak Sah and firing and the police headquarter has announced an award of Rs. 2 lakh on his head, said the SP and added that even Upendra Chaudhary has criminal history and at least half a dozen criminal cases are pending against him. He said that two other brothers of Butan Chaudhary are also being implicated in connection with recovery of banned firearms.

Butan Chaudhary entered the crime world with the war of attrition in Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station. Butan Chaudhary and Ranjeet Chaudhary had close relationship for about one and half a decade but they later developed bitter enmity. In November 2013 Butan Chaudhary was attacked and was fired upon and on December 2013, Mukhia of the Belaur Panchayat, Champa Devi was strangulated to death with a rope. A named FIR was lodged with the police against Ranjeet Chaudhary and his aides in this regard. Champa Devi wife of a servant of Butan Chaudhary had contested panchayt election successfully in 2011 and Hemant Chaudhary, elder brother of Ranjeet Chaudhary was shot dead on May 3, 2011 during electioneering as the wife of Hemant Chaudhary was Mukhia aspirant. He was canvassing for her when on July 20, 2016 his elder son Manish Kumar was shot dead. On July 7, 2017, some miscreants dragged out the husband of the Ward Councilor of the bus near Belau Bunglow under Udwantnagar police station. Meanwhile Parmatma Ravani 30 son of Sudeshwar Rawani of Poswan village under Gadhani police station was going to his village from Ara. His wife Rajani Devi was a member of Poswan ward and had close relation with Butan Chaudhary. Later the only son of late Jitendra Chaudhary was shot dead when he was going to Jamuaw village on a motorcycle from Belaur onn 21 September 2017 and again on March 24, 2017, Deepu Chaudhary, nephew of Butan Chaudhary was shot dead near Pakadi-Circuit House road under Nawada police station when he along with his friend Ajay Chaudhary alias Guddu Chaudhary had come to Ara to see his uncle Butan Chaudhary who had been brought to the Ara Court for production from Bhagalpur Central jail.
