-Bhojpur police recovered the body of a two and half a year old child from a pit filled with dirty water at Saundhi village under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Both his eyes were gauged out and clothes were stuffed in his mouth. His body was swollen due to being in water for long time.

ARA----------------------------Bhojpur police recovered the body of a two and half a year old child from a pit filled with dirty water at Saundhi village under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Both his eyes were gauged out and clothes were stuffed in his mouth. His body was swollen due to being in water for long time. The deceased was identified as Karan alias Dholu 2.5 son of Chandan Sah of Brahmpur village under the same police station in Buxar district. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Jagdishpur police station in this regard and the police also arrested one accused in this regard so far.

Family members of the deceased said that two youths of the village had come to the shop of his elder maternal uncle and asked for some snacks on credit but he refused. At this both the youths threatened him with dire consequences within two hours. Karan alias Dholu had come to Saundhi village to attend the engagement ceremony of his younger maternal uncle and was standing at the gate of the house when the accused person came and lifted him thinking that he might be the son of the shopkeeper. The miscreants gauged out his eyes and stuffed clothes into his mouth and threw the body into a pit filled with dirty water.  

Anita Devi, aunt (mausi) of the deceased said that Ghutur of Saundhi village and Munna of Hatpokhar village came at the shop of her brother in drunken stage and demanded some snacks on credit and when her brother refused, they kidnapped Karan from the house within two hours. They searched for him everywhere but in vain and then they lodged an FIR with the police under Jagdishpur police station in this regard but her body was found two days later. The family members of the deceased blamed that they had informed the SHO Jagdishpur regarding the kidnapping of the child and added that had the SHO swung into action on time, the child could have been saved.

DSP Jagdishpur, Rajeev Kumar Singh said that a team of sniff dog squad and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) arrived at the spot and the body of the child was recovered from a pit filled with dirty water. The DSP further said that the villagers and the family members have blamed the SHO, Jagdishpur police station for the murder of the child and added that investigation is going on in this regard and the guilty would be punished.
