BHOJPUR POLICE EXHUME THE BODY OF A WOMAN, ARREST TWO MISCREANTS
Bhojpur police, acting on a tip of, exhumed body of a woman from near the bank of river Kumhari and arrested two persons in connection of the woman.
Ara, 18 May 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police, acting on a tip of, exhumed body of a woman from near the bank of river Kumhari and arrested two persons in connection of the woman. The woman was identified as Jharfatak Devi alias Prabhawati Devi 30 wife of Shiv Jee Ram of Jahanpur village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. The arrested persons were identified as Sriram Musahar son of Collector Musahar and Daroga Musahar son of Rang Bahadur Musahar of Jahanpur village under Chandi police station. Later the police sent them to jail after interrogation.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that two persons of Jahanpur village under Chandi police station kidnapped a married woman Jharfatak Devi alias Prabhawati Devi 30 of the village on May 15 in the afternoon. They killed and buried her near the bank of river Kumhari after outraging her modesty. On the information of Shiv Jee Paswan Ram, he formed a police team under the SDPO, Ara Chandra Prakash and the police following scientific research, exhumed the body from near the bank of river Kumhari and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The police also arrested Collector Musahar and Daroga Musahar in this regard. The SP said that the postmortem report would confirm the incident of rape.
The SP further said that the son of Shiv Jee Ram’s son had heard about the incident his father had with the villagers but Shiv Jee Ram did not tell about it due to social stigma. Meanwhile, the police got information about the murder of Prabhawati Devi and exhumed the body.
