BHOJPUR POLICE BUSTED GANG OF CHEATERS, ARRESTED TWO

ARA-------------------------Bhojpur police busted an inter-district gang that cheats issueless women on the pretext of having a child and arrested two members of the gang. The police also recovered a pair of gold earrings, two gold mangalshutras, two gold mangtikas, a pearl necklace, two new sarees, two old sarees and Rs. 2000 in cash and two mobiles from them. The arrested cheats were identified as Sunita Devi wife of Harendra Nat of Maharajganj under Brahmpur police station in Buxar district and Wasim Hussain of Ranisagar under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Gajrajganj police outpost in this regard and the police sent them to jail after interrogation. Police are investigating the matter also.

ASP Parichay Kumar said that on August 29, 2024, Suman Devi wife of Parmatma Singh was all alone in her house along with her sister-in-law at Karisasth village under Gajrajganj police outpost in Bhojpur district when an unknown woman entered the house and queried as to whether this house belonged to Parmatma Singh. After confirmation, she said that the unknown woman said that she had come there to see after she knew that Suman Devi could not beget a child even after seven years of marriage. She deceived Suman Devi and her sister-in-law by saying that someone had cast a spell on the gold jewelry they had got at the wedding and so both of them were unable to have a child. The swindler woman asked both the women for all their jewelry she got at their wedding, two new sarees and two old sarees worn on their bodies and said if they offer these articles to Sheetala Mata, both of them will be blessed with a son. Not only this, the victim’s husband was also lured into getting a job. The swindler took out a clove from her lap and fed it to both the women in the house. No sooner did they eat the cloves than their minds were spellbound and they gave away all their belongings including gold jewelry and sarees. Later when their family members knew all about the incident, they realized that they had been cheated. They lodged an FIR with the police under Gajrajganj police outpost in this regard. After institution of FIR, Bhojpur SP formed a police team under SHO Gajrajganj police outpost Hari Prasad to arrest the cheats. After institution of FIR, the police swung into action and following local inputs and scientific research, the police team with the help of their Buxar counterpart arrested Sunita Devi wife of Harendra Nat of Maharajganj under Brahmpur police station in Buxar district. On her revelation, the police team arrested her assistant Wasim Hussain of Ranisagar under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. The SHO Gagjarajganj police outpost said that as both the sisters-in-law are issueless, therefore such fraud was done by bluffing them.
