BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST TWO SAND MAFIAS

Ara, 26 February 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police arrested two sand mafias from two different places in Patna and Bhojpur and sent them to jail after interrogation. The arrested sand mafias were identified as Ankit Pandey son of Satyendra Pandey and his uncle Umeshwar Pandey. His father Satyendra Pandey who is also a sand mafia, is languishing in the Ara jail.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that Ankit Pandey and his uncle Umeshwar Pandey were wanted in connection with 11 cases including murder, attempt to murder at Kamaluchak sand ghat under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district. Ankit Pandey was counted among 10 most wanted criminals and they always slipped from the police. He said that he formed a police team that conducted raids at different places in Bhojpur and other districts. Meanwhile, the police got information that Ankit Pandey had taken shelter in a flat in Patna. The police team at once conducted raid and arrested Ankit Pandey and his friend Rohit Kumar of Panditpur village under Badahara police station from the flat and brought him to Ara. The police also arrested his uncle Umeshwar Pandey from Pachrukhia village under Koelwar police station. Umehswar Pandey was a prime suspect in attempt to murder case at Kamaluchak Sand Ghat in the month of June in 2021.
