BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST TWO MORE ACCUSED IN THE MURDER OF A MINOR GIRL ANSHU KUMARI

Ara, 21 April 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police, acting on a tip off, arrested two more persons from Tier village under the same police station in Bhojpur district from near the house of Paras Giri in connection with murder of a minor girl. The arrested miscreants were identified as Nitish Kumar son of Fagu Yadav and Nitish Kumar son of Veera Yadav of Tier village under the same police station. The police had already arrested a named accused Paras Giri in this regard from Balia in Uttar Pradesh while Durga Devi wife of Kamlesh Giri and Khushi Kumari daughter of Kamlesh Giri had already surrendered in the Ara Civil Court. 

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that a class III student Anshu Kumar daughter of Mallu Yadav of Tier village read in a private school of Tier village under Tier police station. She along with other girls had gone to school taking provisions for picnic on March 5, 2023. All the girls returned home at about 11am the same day but Anshu Kumari did not. The family members searched for her everywhere and were told that Khushi Kumari of the village took Anshu Kumari towards her house. When the family members reached there, the door of the house was locked but they heard some sound inside the house. They somehow reached in a room at the roof of the house and peeped through the window, they found half naked Anshu Kumari unconscious. She was cauterized with hot iron at several places and her face was burnt after sprinkling kerosene oil on her. Later the miscreants strangulated her with rope and escaped from the scene thinking she was dead. She was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Tier police station against three persons including two women, Paras Giri, his wife Durga Deviu and his daughter Khushi Kumar of the village in this regard on the statement of Lalan Yadav, grandfather of the deceased on March 11, 2023. After institution of FIR, the SP formed a police team under the Jagdishpur SDPO Rajeev Chandra Singh. The police team when interrogated Khushi Kumari, she revealed that two Nitish Kumars were involved in the murder. After her revelation, the police detained a woman Durga Devi wife of Kamlesh Giri of the village who was supposed to hid evidence for interrogation. Though both mother and daughter, under mounting police pressure, surrendered in the Ara Civil Court and were sent to jail under judicial custody. The police also arrested a named accused in the murder Paras Giri from Balia in Uttar Pradesh and sent him to jail.

The SP said that the police recovered half burnt school uniform and a locket from the spot and also recovered the iron which was used to cauterize Anshu Kumari.

The SP stated that both the Nitish Kumars had illicit relation with Khushi Kumari and Anshu Kumar somehow knew about it. Both Nitish Kumars hatched plan with the help of Khushi Kumari to eliminate Anshu Kumari with a fear of leakage of their relation with Khushi Kumari. To execute their plan, Khushi Kumari lured Anshu Kumari and brought her to her house where Khushi Kumari with the help of both the Nitish Kumars cauterized Anshu Kumsri with hot iron and then strangulated her to death. In this misdeed, Khushi Kumari’s mother Durga Devi supported and hid the matter.

The SP further said that the police had to face wrath of villagers including women folk and mother of the deceased Kanchan Devi and he the ASI Haribansh Singh alias Chattan Singh closed to Ara Civil Court removing him from the Tier police station as villagers were agitating particularly against him blaming that he was in gloves with the murderers.
