BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST ONE MISCREANT FROM PURNIA

ARA----------------------------Bhojpur police and a team of the STF arrested one more accused Rocky alias Raja from Purnia in connection with robbery of jewelleries of god, silver and diamond worth about Rs. 10 crore in Tanishq Showroom near Gopali Chowk under Ara town police station on March 10, 2025 and sent him to jail after interrogation. The police also recovered one pistol and three live cartridges on his revelation. Rocky alias Raja was a resident of Bausi in Banka district. The police arrested him from Purnia two days and ago and brought him to Ara.

Bhojpur SP Mister Raj said that Rocky alias Raja was also involved in the Showroom robbery and he was seen in the CCTV footage. Earlier five main accused in the robbery had been arrested so far. The SP stated that after the robbery, the police are conducting raids at different places on the basis of the CCTV footage. The police had already arrested 15 miscreants in connection with loot in different places when the main accused Chunmun Jha was killed in police encounter at Araria. He said that on the basis of the CCTV footage, the Bhojpur police with the help of their Purnia counterpart arrested Rocky alias Raja from Purnia and on his revelation the police recovered a pistol used in the robbery and three live cartridges from a bush near Neknam Tola under Badahara police station. The SP said that the police have recovered four pistols and live cartridges so far in this regard. He said that the police are conducting raids to arrest other miscreants and for recovery of the looted jewelleries.

The SP stated that during interrogation, Rocky alias Raja confessed before the police that he was hired on contact of Rs. 22 lakh by the goons of a jail bird Subodh Singh and he was given only Rs. 22,000 as first instalment but he was not told about as to where the robbery was to be committed. Rocky alias Raja confessed that he bought some clothes and other necessaries for his wife and family members with the money. Rocky alias Raja told the police that when he reached Ara, he was told that robbery was to be committed in Tanishq Showroom. At this he refused but he was threatened with dire consequences and so involved in the robbery under compulsion.

The SP said that when the miscreants including Suraj Mandal were fleeing after robbery in the Showroom and were trying to cross the river Ganga in a boat, some sand mafias snatched a lion share of the booty and two pistols from them tough the police seized both the pistols and 128 grams of gold jewelleries worth about Rs. 12 lakh

As the investigation progress, new facts are coming to light. It is said that that looted gold was sold in New Delhi and 13 semi-automatic Glock pistols with that money though the crime branch of the Delhi police have reportedly seized all the 13 glock pistols.

After snatching of booty from the miscreants who were fleeing after robbery at Tanishq Showroom by the sand mafias came to light, the police are trying to identity and arrest them. The police are conducting raids along the Diara of river of Ganga and bordering areas including Badahara to Koelwar in Bhojpur and Maner in Patna. It was said that the sand mafias had snatched two pistols and some jewelleries from the robbers near Neknam Tola and later the three robbers were let freed. After that trio went to Uttar Pradesh in a boat. The matter came to light after Suraj Mandal who was arrested from Jammu spill the beam before the police, said the SP
