BHOJPUR POLICE ARREST NINE NAMED ACCUSED IN FIRING AT SAND GHAT

Ara (RNI) Bhojpur police arrested nine persons including three injured persons in connection with an exchange of fire at Khangao Sand Ghat under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district and seized two motorcycles and two Poclain excavators and 15 blank cartridges from the incident site. The arrested persons were identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Kallu Rai of Arjunpur village under Buxar Muffassil police station, Shubham Rai of Jaso village, Deepak Rai and Pawan Rai of Dehari village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district, Kallu Singh alias Manish Singh of Dandiha village under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district of one group while Prakash Chaudhary of Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station, Sunil Kumar and Bihari Yadav of Khangao village under Chandi police station  in Bhojpur district of another group. The police conducting raids to arrest at least a dozen persons including dreaded criminals Ranjeet Chaudhary, Butan Chaudhary of Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station and Deepak Pandey, an awardee of Rs.50,000 on his head.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that two groups had clashed and exchanged fire at Khangao Sand Ghat under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district in connection with paving way to reach the Sand Ghat of Zindal company on October 20, 2023 in the afternoon. In an exchange of fire, five persons received bullet injuries while on Harshit Kumar was killed. After the incident, he formed a police team under the ASP Chandra Prakash and the police team arrested nine persons of both the groups.

The SP said that different types of weapons were used during firing as the police recovered 15 blank cartridges of country made pistol, rifle and pistols. He confirmed two dozen round of firing while the villagers said that over 50 rounds of firing had taken place. At least five persons Praksh Chaudhary, Harshit Singh, Sunil Yadav, Bihari Yadav of one group and Rakesh Kumar alias Kallu Rai of another group were injured. Later Harshit Singh succumbed to his injuries.

The SP further stated that two rival groups had clashed once again and mastermind of both the groups were made named accused in the FIRs filed by both the groups. In the first FIR filed against Butan Chaudhary, Sumit Chaudhary of Belaur village, Manoj Pandey of Ekwari village, Rakesh Rai alias Kallu Rai , Shubham Rai of Buxar distric and Kallu Singh alias Manish Kumar of Dhandiha village in Bhojpur district, Prakash Chaudhary of a group blamed that the named accused fired merely to establish supremacy in the area. In the second FIR lodged by Rakesh Rai of Buxar against Ranjeet Chaudhary, Prakash Chaudhary, Harshit Singh, Sunil Kumar and some unidentified persons, blamed that he along with his partner Manoj Pandey was paving way for Zindal Company to reach the Khangao Sand Ghat No 4 when the named accused started firing and killing Hirshit Singh and injured five of them.
