ARA-------------------------The Bhojpur district administration bulldozers kept roaring the whole day on the people who had been encroaching for years on the banks of Ara main canal from Dharahara Bridge but all were watching the action silently due to the strictness of the administration. Panic prevails among the encroachers. Now they are realizing their mistake.
Encroachment has to be removed from Dharahara Bridge to Bahir Lkh so that beautification work can be done and the canal can also be paved and so it is necessary to remove encroachment. Executive Engineer of the Canal Department had requested the Bhojpur district administration that due to encroachment, the lining work cannot be done and the beautification work also cannot be completed on time. On his request, the district administration fixed the date to remove the encroachment and during the anti-encroachment drive, the administration removed over 50 illegally constructed slums and concrete houses on the banks of Ara main canal. The JCB machine demolished the illegally constructed structures. A large number of people had gathered to watch the anti-encroachment drive. There was chaos in the area following the drive.
Considering the success and time limit of the scheme, the district administration was fully prepared for the anti-encroachment drive. Ara Sadar Circle Officer Raj Kumar was posted as magistrate. The SDPO had directed the Ara town and Nawada police stations SHOs to work in coordination with Ara CO so that any situation can be dealt with. The district administration has deployed a large number of officers, police force, woman police personnel to deal with any situation during the anti-encroachment operation.
Raj Kumar, Ara CO said that the drive will continue further in future too and no relaxation will be allowed. The encroachers will not be spared. A campaign is going on against the encroachers and added that it is illegal to do any kind of construction on government land without permission. He added that the encroachment will be removed at any cost. It is government land and there is not need for notice to remove encroachers.
CPI-ML leader, Quamuddin Ansari said that police baton were used on the houses of the poor without any government notice and criticized the bulldozer action and demanded a stop on it.
