Ara Junction under Danapur rail division has been selected among one thousand railway stations in the country during the Golden Period of Independence, is to be equipped with international level passenger service. About two and half a months ago, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and local MP cum union energy minister Raj Kumar Singh through video conferencing from New Delhi had laid foundation stone of the plane worth about Rs. 29 crore on August 6, 2023 to develop Ara Junction through ‘Gati-Shakti’ Rail Project.

ARA----------------------------Ara Junction under Danapur rail division has been selected among one thousand railway stations in the country during the Golden Period of Independence, is to be equipped with international level passenger service. About two and half a months ago, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and local MP cum union energy minister Raj Kumar Singh through video conferencing from New Delhi had laid foundation stone of the plane worth about Rs. 29 crore on August 6, 2023 to develop Ara Junction through ‘Gati-Shakti’ Rail Project.
During the foundation stone laying ceremony, it was said that Ara Junction will look different by 28th February next year however work has not been started on the ground yet. The aim of the Railway is to prepare this plan and everything related to it as per the map and start modernization of Bihia railway station including Ara railway station. The Danapur Railway Division Railway Manager (DRM) will take the decision on modernization works in a phased manner as per the requirement. A special fund has also been kept with the DRM for this purpose. Bihia railway station along with pre-selected Ara Junction was selected under Gati-Shakti Scheme under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. An amount of Rs. 53 crore was allocated for the renovation of these stations including Rs. 29 crore for the Ara Junction. The unit of Gati-Shakti Scheme will directly reports to the DRM. It is said that due to having one head, there is no lack of coordination between the departments. Railway Officials said that the modernization of and beautification of stations, construction of new platforms and shades under the Gati-Shakti Scheme including laying of new lines, doubling, tripling of rail tracks and laying of fourth line. Railways believes that with the formation of the unit, all these works have gained momentum. It can also be said that the work will be completed within the target period set for completing the work.
Sources said that this map was passed after Gati-Shakti officals canceled the map several times regarding the construction of Ara terminal. Modernization of Ara Station includes Foot Over Bridge (FOB), high level platform, soft upgrades, major upgrades and many other essential facilities will be redeveloped. On the basis of these models, the projects are to be finalized from the beginning.
