Awareness program conducted by Child Helpline to prevent child marriage on Akshaya Tritiya

Hardoi( RNI)Child Helpline 1098 operated by the Women Welfare Department, today in the district's Ken Society Nehru Degree College, Hardoi CSN College, students were made aware to prevent child marriage to prevent possible child marriage on Akshaya Tritiya. In the program, Child Helpline Project Coordinator Anoop Tiwari gave detailed information to all the students about the ill effects of child marriage and told that there is a high possibility of child marriage on Akshaya Tritiya on 30 April, keeping this in mind, all child stakeholders and related departments received strict instructions from the Central Government and the State Government that maximum awareness should be created to prevent child marriage. Along with this, Project Coordinator Anoop Tiwari told that child marriage comes under the category of a crime for which the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006 Act has been made, which aims to declare child marriage illegal and punish the people involved in child marriage, the minimum age limit for marriage should be 18 years for a girl and 21 years for a boy, the person who marries a child or helps in it should be punished. There can be rigorous imprisonment of up to 02 years and fine of Rs.01 lakh or both. Along with this, the project coordinator made everyone aware that if child marriage is taking place or if any information is received about it, then it can be immediately reported on the toll free number of Child Helpline- 1098 or Police Helpline- 112. College Principal Kaushalendra Kumar Singh, Project Coordinator of Child Helpline Anoop Tiwari, Supervisor Vibha Shukla and Case Worker Varun Kumar etc were present in the awareness program
