ASI INJURED IN ATTACK ON POLICE TEAM IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA------------------------Villagers pelted with stones and bricks on police force when they went to Kulaharia village under Koelwar police station Bhojpur district to arrest a miscreant. One ASI posted at Bihta police station, Santosh Kumar Singh and some constables were injured. The ASI was admitted to the Primary Health Centre, Koelwar but the doctor referred him to the Patna Medical College and Hospital. An FIR was lodged with the police under Koelwar station against five named and about 20 unnamed persons on the statement of the Koelwar and Bihata police in connection with attack on police force.

ASHO Koelwar police station Subhash Kumar Mandal said that some miscreants had looted a person under Bihata police station area in Patna district on July 27, 2024 and an FIR was lodged with the police under Bihata police station in this regard. During investigation, name of Dipak Yadav of Kulharia village under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district was figured. The Bihata police with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart raided Kulharia village under Koelwar police station at about midnight and when the police were querying about Subhash Kumar Mandal, his family members and villagers assembled and started pelting with stones on police force. Meanwhile, Subhash Kumar Mandal closed the door of the house and escaped from the scene. In the brick bat, an ASI posted at Bihata police station Santosh Kumar Singh received serious head injuries and some other police constables were also injured. The police had to retreat but later a heavy police force arrived at the incident site and used force in which some villagers were also injured. Later the villagers blocked the Highway at about midnight for about an hour and paralyzed movement of vehicles. They blamed that the police entered the houses and thrashed innocent people. The blockade could be lifted after perusal of police officers. Later an FIR was lodged with the police under Koelwar police station against 5 named and 20 unnamed persons in connection with attack on police force and also blocking of road. The police arrested four named persons Santosh Yadav, Surendra Yadav, Nagendra Yadav and Satendra Yadav in this regard.
