Ara, 18 July 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav suspended an ASI and a police constable with immediate effect in connection with assaulting an army man and his mother at the State Bank of India, Giddha branch under Giddha police outpost in Bhojpur district.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that an army man Prakash Kumar along with his mother Devanti Devi of Bagmajhaua village under Koelwar police station came to the State Bank of India, Giddha branch under Giddha police outpost for withdrawal of money when the Giddha police outpost police came there for checking and started abusing and assaulting the army man and his mother unprovoked on July 12, 2023. Meanwhile someone videographed the incident and made it viral on social media. Devanti Devi mother of the army man lodged an FIR with the police under Giddha police station in this regard and demanded action against the police personnel. Taking cognizance of the incident, the SP suspended an ASI and a police constable after prob.
