ARA-------------------------Bhojpur police arrested a senior officer of the Life Insurance Corporation of India in connection with giving loan fraudulently. The arrested LIC officer was identified as Rajesh Kumar who is posted as deputy manager at Muzzaffarpur branch of the LIC and was arrested from the LIC office at Muzzaffarpur.
SHO Ara town police station Sanjeev Kumar said that a border security force personnel Satish Kumar Singh of Bajeria village under Sahar police station in Bhojpur had filed an FIR with the police under Ara town police station against the LIC officer Rajesh Kumar and since he was absconding. In the FIR, Satish Kumar said that he was posted at Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2018 and he had to take loan from the LIC for the construction of his house and so he filled up the forms but in the meantime, he returned to his duty as his leave was over. Before going to his duty, he kept the filled up forms and a black cheque duly singed in his house for the expenditure of house hold. Meanwhile, his sister and brother-in-law somehow got the filled up forms and the black cheque and they with the help of the manager, Housing Finance Limited of LIC, Rajesh Kumar succeeded in getting the loans of Rs. 30.20 lakh fraudulently and the said amount was credited in his bank account of the SBI at Ara. Later his brother-in-law transferred Rs. 25.17 lakh to his bank account through a cheque. He knew about the fraud when EMI was being cut from the bank account of the loan and then he lodged an FIR with the police under Ara town police station in this regard.
