AGITATING PEOPLE THRASHED THE SHO, INJURED SDM, SDPO AND OTHER POLICE PERSONNEL

SASARAM (RNI) Irate villagers resorted to brick batting in which SDM, SDPO SHO Baddi police station in Rohtas district and other police personnel were injured. The police also retaliated and lathi charged on the unruly mob and also arrested 22 agitating people. The injured were admitted to the hospitals.

SHO Baddi police station Vishwajeet Kumar said that some miscreants had killed a gold businessman Suraj Kumar of Sukuhi village under Baddi police station of Shivsagar block in Rohtas district when he protested their bid to loot him on Dehari-Chenari Canal road in the late evening on August 23, 2024. The villagers became agitated and blocked the roundabout near Baddi police station with the body of the deceased and paralyzed movement of vehicles in the morning on August 24, 2024. They also raised slogans against the district administration and demanded compensation for the family of the deceased and arrest of the miscreants. When the SHO Baddi police station Vishwajeet Kumar went on the spot, the agitating people became all the more furious and thrashed him. They also thrashed other and injured other police personnel when they came to the rescue of the SHO. The police personnel somehow escaped from the spot and took shelter inside the police station. On the information of the SHO, the SDM Amrendra Kumar and the SDPO Dilip Kumar along with police force and Vajra Vahan but they had also to face the wrath of the people who started pelting with stones on them in which the SDM and the DPO were injured and the people also damaged several government vehicles. In retaliation, the police had to use force in which some people were also injured. The police arrested 22 agitating people and seized 10 motorcycles and 10 bicycles form the spot.
