ADJ IV AWARDS RIGOROUS LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO 19 PERSONS FOR MURDER
Additional District and Session Judge IV, Rohtas Civil Court, Anil Kumar awarded rigorous life imprisonment to 19 persons in connection with murder. The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on each ofk them and ordered to pay the amount to the victim family. If they failed to pay the penalty, they will have to undergo six months extra imprisonment. The persons who were awarded rigorous life imprisonment are Uma Shankar Mahato, Bali Mahato, Santan Mahato, Ramendra Mahato, Arjun Mahato, Heera Ram Mahato, Dashrath Mahato, Ram Chandra Mahato, Ashok Mahato, Suput Mahato, Ram Nath Mahato, Arun Mahato, Ramashish Mahato, Umesh Mahato, Sunil Mahato, Rajeshwar Mahto, Prem Chand Mahato, Parmanand Sharma and Vishanath Mahato of Alampur village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district.

The persons who were awarded rigorous life imprisonment are Uma Shankar Mahato, Bali Mahato, Santan Mahato, Ramendra Mahato, Arjun Mahato, Heera Ram Mahato, Dashrath Mahato, Ram Chandra Mahato, Ashok Mahato, Suput Mahato, Ram Nath Mahato, Arun Mahato, Ramashish Mahato, Umesh Mahato, Sunil Mahato, Rajeshwar Mahto, Prem Chand Mahato, Parmanand Sharma and Vishanath Mahato of Alampur village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district.
APP Anil Kumar Singh said that the miscreants had reached the house of Sanjay Mali at about 6am on October 27, 1997 and shot dead his uncle in an old enmity and whoever came to his rescue, the miscreants also attacked on him. They copped off the hands, feet and even the head of the deceased and threw the body in a canal nearby. Later they miscreants escaped from the scene. A named FIR was lodged with the police against Uma Shankar Mahato, Bali Mahato, Santan Mahato, Ramendra Mahato, Arjun Mahato, Heera Ram Mahato, Dashrath Mahato, Ram Chandra Mahato, Ashok Mahato, Suput Mahato, Ram Nath Mahato, Arun Mahato, Ramashish Mahato, Umesh Mahato, Sunil Mahato, Rajeshwar Mahto, Prem Chand Mahato, Parmanand Sharma and Vishanath Mahato of Alampur village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district. The APP further said that the court had summoned four IOs during the pendency of the case but they never turned up in the court.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ IV convicted all the named accused and awarded rigorous life imprisonment all of them and also slapped a fine of Rs.50,000 on each of them. In case of failure of payment of penalty, they have to undergo extra six months imprisonment.
