ADJ III AWARDS LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO HUSBAND AND THE MOTHER-IN-LAW FOR MURDER OF MARRIED WOMAN

Ara, 18 July 2023, (RNI): Additional District and Session Judge III, Ara Civil Court, Satyendra Singh awarded rigorous life imprisonment to two persons including a woman and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on each of them in connection with murder of a married woman.

APP Siya Ram Singh said that Manorama Devi was married with Avinash Chaudhary alias Bhola Chaudhary of Koshier village under Chauri police station in Bhojpur district. On August 7, 2021 in the evening, Avinash and his mother Dev Kumari Kuer badly thrashed and injured her over a trivial issue and she was admitted to the hospital where she died during treatment. Her in-laws also informed her father on mobile. On the arrival of her father she narrated that her husband and the mother-in-law beat her up badly before she breathed her last in the hospital.

Hearing both the parties, the ADJ III convicted the husband Avinash Chaudhary alias Bhola Chaudhary and the mother-in-law Dev Kumari Kuer and awarded them rigorous life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on each of them.
