APP Vinod Kumar Singh said that Meera Kumari of Isarpura village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district was married to Sanjay Chaydhary of Dumari village under Simari police station in Buxar district in the year 2008. Since marriage, she was tortured physically and mentally merely for a gold chain and a gas connection. As the Meera Kumari’s father was too poor, he could not fulfill the demands and so the in-laws were not taking the bride to their house.
