ADJ I AWARDS RIGOROUS LIFE IMPRISONMENT TO SIX PERSONS IN DOUBLE MURDER CASE
Additional District and Session Judge I, Ara Civil Court, Rishi Kumar Singh awarded rigorous life imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 31,000 on each of them in connection with double murder case about 27 years ago.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) said that Pancham Singh, his son Devendra Singh alias Abhiram Singh along with Rup Narayan Singh, Fulwaso Devi and Ram Nath Singh were sitting outside of their house at Bindgawan Naya Tola village under Koelwar police station on October 14, 1997 when Mahesh Singh and others of the same village came with rifle, gun and pistol and said as to why they are not removing the ashes from their land. The dispute escalated over this matter and they started indiscriminate firing in which Pancham Singh and his son Devendra Singh alias Abhiram Singh were shot dead while Rup Narayan Singh, Fulwaso Devi and Ram Nath Singh received bullet injuries and were injured. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Koelwar police station in this regard. The charge was framed on February 26, 2013. 12 person turned up for witness from the prosecution while 6 from the defense.
After hearing both the parties, the ADJ I, Rishi Kumar Singh awarded rigorous life imprisonment to six persons Mahesh Singh, Umesh Singh, sons of late Sudhar Singh, Jai Prakash Singh, Shashi Ranjan Singh, sons of late Ram Chandra Singh, Dhrup Singh and Manoj Singh. The court also slapped a fine of Rs. 31,000 on each of them.
