ADJ 1, ROHTAS CIVIL COURT WITHHOLD SALARY OF ROHTAS DM

Sasaram, 19 May 2023, (RNI): Additional District and Session Judge, I,Rohtas Civil Court, Manoj Kumar withheld the power of withdrawal of salary of the Rohtas District Magistrate till further order.

The court had ordered the Treasury Officer (TO), Rohtas to realize Rs. 1 lakh from the salary of the Rohtas DM about 33 years ago in connection with rape and theft pending in the court since 1990 and not producing the witness and the culprit in the court. The court also directed to deposit the same amount in the District Legal Service Authority within 7 days of the order but no action was taken so far in this far and the order of the court was not complied with.

An FIR was lodged with the police under Kochas police station in Rohtas district against two persons including Rajendra Dom who is absent since 1990. Besides, among six witnesses including a doctor, only one person was present in the court for witness and the case is pending since as five other witnesses did not appear in the court despite several reminders but the officials failed to produce the accused and the witnesses in the court. Taking it seriously, the court withheld salary of the Rohtas DM till further order in connection with not complying with its order to realize Rs. I lakh from the salary of the DM.
