At least 45 school children of Upgraded Middle School, Salempur under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district fell ill after taking medicines of Filarial. The ailing students were admitted to the Koelwar Primary Health Centre but they were referred to the Ara Sadar Hospital.

ARA-------------------------At least 45 school children of Upgraded Middle School, Salempur under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district fell ill after taking medicines of Filarial. The ailing students were admitted to the Koelwar Primary Health Centre but they were referred to the Ara Sadar Hospital. The ailing students were identified as Siri Kumari daughter of Pintu Sao, Roushani Kumar daughter of Binod Singh, Neha Kumar daughter of Kanchan Kumar, Sarita Kumar daughter of Sonu Singh, Anisha Kumar daughter of Binod Sah, Suhani Kumari daughter of Premchand Singh, Jyoti Kumari daughter of Raju Kumar, Riya Kumari daughter of Om Prakash, Khushi Kumari daughter of late Dinesh Kumar, Anjali Kumari daughter of Dev Kumar, Roushani Kumari daughter of Raju Paswan, Anshu Kumari daughter of Maya Lal, Karan Kumar and Haran Kumar sons of Manager Singh, Durga Kumari daughter of Ramakant Paswan, Priyanshu Kumar son of Premchand Singh, Shreshthi Kumari daughter of Sonu Singh, Jyoti Kumari daughter of Guddu Sah, Saraswati Kumari daughter of Babloo Paswan, Khushi Kumar daughter of Anil Singh and Susum Kumari daughter of Indrajeet Singh and other students of Salempur village under Chandi police station. Chaos from Salempur village to Ara Sadar Hospital created till late in the night following the incident.
On information, the Civil Surgeon Dr. Shivendra Kumar Sinha, Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Arun Kumar, Hospital Manager Shashi Kant Kumar and other doctors rushed to the hospital and started treating the ailing students. The Bhojpur District Education Officer (DEO) Ahasan, Block Education Officer (BEO), Koelwar Sri Bhagwan Sah, Block Project Officer (BPO) Yashwant Kumar SDM Sadhan Sevi Vibhishan Ram also arrived at the Ara Sadar Hospital and met the ailing students and their guardians and consoled them. Ara MP Sudama Prasad also went to Ara Sadar Hospital and directed the doctors to take special care of the students. He also demanded inquiry into this episode so that such incident should not be repeated in the future.
