ARA-------------------------------A meeting of District Level fertilizer monitoring committee held under the chairmanship of Bhojpur District Magistrate, Raj Kumar in the premises of Ara Collectorate.

District Agriculture Officer (DAO) said that 47607-6 hectares have been planted in the district against 120339-50 hectares. He added that there is no shortage of other fertilizer including urea in Bhojpur. He explained in detail about the coverage of various crops in Kharif 2024. He added that this year so far 47607-6 hectares have been planted in Bhojpur against 120339-50 hectares. In Bhojpur, paddy 108060-9 hectares against 40846, maize-3682 hectares against 1195-40 hectares, pigeon pea-579 hectares against 1052-1 hectares, Sawa-307-4 was planted against 50-72 hectares, millet-1037 hectares against 372-2 hectares which is 39%-60% of the total target.

The DAO said that in Kharif, till the month of July, fertilizer wise requirement, supply, consumption and residue of fertilizers were explained in detail. Similarly, by providing the details of storage of Urea, DAP, MOP, NPKS and SSP etc. in Bhojpur, added he. He said that that at present there is no shortatye of other fertilizers including urea. In the current Kharif season, urea stock is 18079-387 MT, DAP 3050-78NT, NPK-3667-005MT is available.  

The DAO said that in order to check the quality of fertilizers and to stop black-marketing, a raiding team has been formed as per the orders of the District Officer though which raids are conducted on fertilizer shops from time to time. As soon as information about irregulatities/mistakes is received, the raiding team raids the shops and provides a report in the prescribed form. He further sid that so far, surprise inspections/raids have been conducted at 44 shops out of which irregularities were found in 3 shops and license of one shop has been suspended.

The DAO stated that samples of fertilizers are collected randomly to ensure availability of quality fertilizers. This year, samples have been collected from 46 sites against the target of 177. The collected samples have been sent to Patna for testing and result reports of 17 samples have been received.

Jagdishpur MLA Ram Vishun Singh Lohia said whether there is abundant availability of fertilizer in the district. The District Officer said that there is no problem like shortage of fertilizer in Bhojpur. Farmers are getting proper and easy access to fertilizers.

Badahra MLA Raghwendra Pratap Singh said that the first task of the government is to provide fertilizers to the farmers at fixed prices. Besides, raiding teams should be formed and raids should be conducted in the district so that fertilizers can be easily provided to the farmers.

District Officer, District Agriculture Officer, District Cooperative Officer, Agiaw MLA Shiv Prakash Ranjan, Jagdishpur MLA Ram Vishun Singh Lohia, Badahara MLA Raghwendra Pratap Singh, Bhojpur-Buxar MLC Radha Charan Seth, Ara MLA representative, Ajay Kumar Singh, Sandesh MLA representative Karun Kumar Singh, RJD District President, Birbal Yadav, Chief AreaManager of IFFCO and representatives of VICOMAN were present in the meeting.
