90TH FOUNDATION DAY OF THE PRAGATISHIL LEKHAK SANGH ORGANIZED

The 90th foundation day of the Progressive Writers’ Association was organized in the Hindi Department Auditorium of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU). A one day seminar on “Achievements of the Progressive Movement”and poetry reading were also organized under the joint aegis of the Progressive Writers’ Association, Bhojpur unit and the Hindi Department, VKSU. Prof. Mrityunjay Singh, Head of the Post Graduate Hindi Department, VKSU was chief guest while Prof. Neeraj Singh, state president of the Janwadi Lekhak Sangh and Prof. Diwakar Pandey, Head of the Bhojpuri Department, VKSU were the guest of honour. Prof, Ravindra Nath Rai presided over the meeting. Prof. Navneet Rai, District Secretary of the Progressive Writers’ Association, conducted the first session of the Seminar and Dr. Kamal Kumari, former Principal, Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay, extended vote of thanks.

Ara (RNI) The 90th foundation day of the Progressive Writers’ Association was organized in the Hindi Department Auditorium of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU). A one day seminar on “Achievements of the Progressive Movement”and poetry reading were also organized under the joint aegis of the Progressive Writers’ Association, Bhojpur unit and the Hindi Department, VKSU. Prof. Mrityunjay Singh, Head of the Post Graduate Hindi Department, VKSU was chief guest while Prof. Neeraj Singh, state president of the Janwadi Lekhak Sangh and Prof. Diwakar Pandey, Head of the Bhojpuri Department, VKSU were the guest of honour. Prof, Ravindra Nath Rai presided over the meeting. Prof. Navneet Rai, District Secretary of the Progressive Writers’ Association, conducted the first session of the Seminar and Dr. Kamal Kumari, former Principal, Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalay, extended vote of thanks.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mrityunjay Singh, Head of the Hindi Department, said that the star of the literary world, Munshi Premchand had then presided over the Progressive Writers’ Association. When he was seeing the oppression and deprivation of the rights of the helpless poor in the society and knew that it is necessary to support the writings of the writers.

Prof. Neeraj Singh said that it was a turbulent time, with the thought of establishing peace and harmony, the writers of that time were very active. All the writers together tried to form an organization where everyone could speak their minds openly. They could show the society the right path. The group of Progressive Writers became the voice of the deprived. About 85 percent of our population is poor. Deprived and workers. They cannot be divided on the basis of caste or anything else, they can be from any group or community. But only 15 percent of the people are sitting on resources by claiming their right. In such a situation, organizations are formed to raise the voice of the deprived people.

Prof. Ravindra Rai while highlighting the need for the Progressive Writers’ Association, said that the British government had banned literary activities. The offices of many magazines and newspapers were closed. The Progressive Writers’ Association was established against fascism and capitalism, for freedom of expression and unity of writers. Writers found heroes among the common people

Poet Janardan Mishra, president of the Progressive Writers’ Association, Bhojpur unit, said that a writer is always Progressivism is a tradition. It was there earlier, is there now and will remain there in future too. There are many literature lovers in Bhojpur district. He added that emerging writers and poets are also doing very well. We will keep promoting them by connecting them with the organization.

Prof. Navneet Rai said that organization is a symbol of strength and it is necessary for writers to write the truth and stand firmly against the system.

In the second session, many poets presented their works. Poet Neeraj Singh impressed everyone with his excellent composition “Jo Jo man mein aaye likh do sab Kuchh shyamye likh do.” Poet Janardan Mishra recited his famous composition “This is a city of snakes, sir, this is the city of snakes.” Prof. Diwakar Pandey recited his compotion “What is my fault, why are you cursing me?” Santosh Shreyansh, editor of Srujanlok, recited “Understanding the concern of the students. He also recited his poem “Suicide Note.” Om Prakash Mishra recited his composition “Kahna Chahta Hoon Mahanubhav Sune.” Madhulika Sinha recited a composition based on racism. Harendra Singh recited his composition “Daughters taking flight” Ravi Shankar Singh recited ‘Story of Childhood” and Arvind Kumar Singh recited the saga of Kunwar Singh on the lines of Batohia. Dr. Jitendra Shukla recited composition “Man is Just a Puppet” while Rakesh Guddu Ojha recited a composition “We do not accept the bond that you bind us with,” janmejaya Ojha “Manjar’ recited his composition “Kahaan The Parth,” Poetess Poonam Pandey recited “ Yeh Kaisi Azadi,” Poetess Shalini Ojha recited poetry aloud with a free voice. Deepak Singh Nikumbh recited the poem “Everyone is surrounded by Responsibility, there is a disease of sugar and blood pressure,” Jai Mangal Mishra recited the poem ‘Kitne Shabd Rah Gaye Adhure” in his melodious style. Rupendra Mishra recited his poem “Many lives are ruined in the name of development”.

Dr. Kamal Kumari said that a writer or poet writes what he or she sees aound him or her, therefore we should see positive things. There is a lot of positive energy around us and we should try to absorb it.

Dr. Kamal Kumari Singh, Madhu Mishra, Kanchan Singh, Dr. Kaushalya Sharma, Krishna Yadav Krishnendu, Janmejay Ojha, Ashutosh Kumar Pandey, Ravi Shankar Singh, Deepak Singh, Jayamangal, Manoj Ojha, Harendra Singh, Arvind Singh, Anand Sameeksha and a number of students of the VKSU were present on the occasion.
