Addressing the convocation meeting on the old campus of the VKSU, the Governor, Government of Bihar cum Chancellor, Universities of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanth Arlekar expressed surprise over the organizing of 6th convocation in the 33 years in the history of VKSU and added that in these three decades, many students passed out many years ago and went to other states but they could not get medals as the convocation was not organized. He expressed his displeasure over not giving chance to students to attend the convocation and added that it is matter of great shame for Bihar where academic sessions are running five to six year behind. He advised to conduct examinations on time and publish results on time too.

He said that he assumed the office of the Governor two years ago what knew reviewed the performance of the universities, he came across plethora of problems. He added that neither the examination was held nor the results were published on time that caused migration of students in bulk to other states for education. He added he found somewhere teachers did not engage their classes while some other place students did attend their classes. Examinations are not conducted or if conducted, it is not on time resulting migration of students to other states like Mumbai, Bangalore but the day is not far away when students will not go outside. But now the scenario is changed. Now the examination is held on time and the results are published on time too and as a result students prefer to stay in Bihar and he gave credit to all the students, teachers and even guardians for it. He said that he was waiting for the students not to go out of Bihar and get education here as it was their responsibility to impart education to students. He said that now Bihar is taking a turn and going to a new direction where students and teachers perform their duties assigned to them. He stated that the universities will have to become the centre of development.

The Governor said that a cell has also been made at the Raj Bhawan whee the youth have the ability to do something different. The Youth of Bihar have different thoughts and they earn fame wherever they go and he has full confidence in them.

The Chancellor stated that students should have clear goals in life so that they can work in the interest of society. They should be given such education so that they can become employment providers instead of jobs takers. So parents, universities, colleges and other educational institutions should make proper efforts for this, said he and advised the youth don’t opt guaranteed poverty and adopt risky prosperity instead.

He stated that new schemes of Central and State governments are going on for building entrepreneurship and it is now the need of the hour to become job givers after becoming trained in different fields of entrepreneurship. He added that entrepreneurship development cell will be formed in each and every university to provide the necessary support and guidance to the youth to make them expert entrepreneurs and efforts are being made in this direction by the Central as well as the Bihar governments.

The Governor said that there is a need to show the way to the youth who can become entrepreneurs through startups. Though the cell formed in universities, the qualities of becoming an entrepreneur will be taught so that they can become entrepreneurs while studying.

He stressed that that there is a need to make the coming generation job providers. He said that the Prime Minister dreamt of a developed India by 2047 and the dream will come true. The youth will have to play a pivotal role in making India a developed country by the year 2047 and for this they will have to work hard in the coming years.

Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that the thinking of doing a job has to be changed. We do not need servants here but job givers and for this, educational institutions and the youth will have to come forward. He said that by 2027 India will become a developed country and we will be able to boast that India is now not a under developed or developing country and it is a developed country instead and to achieve this goal, the youth and even the teachers will have to change their mindset.

The Chancellor, thanked the Vice-Chancellor, VKSU for regularizing the academic sessions and conducting of examinations on time with the cooperation of the teachers, students and even the all the employees of the university. He added that the cell should be formed in Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU) where students can pursue professional course and this university will be pioneer in this field so that after leaving the university, the students do the work of job providers and not job seekers. He cited example of a girl of Mumbai who left her engineering job and opted natural farming in the village of Himachal Pradesh and earned twice of her monthly payment and also giving jobs to many people.

The Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi welcomed the distinguished guests and also presented report cards of the university. Speaking on the occasion, the VC said that due to his relentless effort, degrees of at least 2.5 lakh students were declared valid in Bihar and promotion of 212 teachers which was pending for quite long time was cleared and that too without any objection from any quarter. He with the help of teachers and students succeeded in regularizing the academic session. He added due to running of academic session late, the students of Bihar migrate to Uttar Pradesh and Bengal and other parts of the country and now it will not be done as the academic session has been regularized. He continued that Bhojpur is the birth place of Babu Veer Kuer Singh who was the instrument to taste the sweets of first freedom from the British though it was short lived. Bhojpur is also the birth place of Bhojpurii language which is spoken in a vast part of the world. He added that even Lord Ram had got his education here and so this land is considered the land of initiation. He stated that the convocation would be organized at regular interval as the academic session is no regular.
