28128 FARMERS MAY BE DEPRIVED OF PRIME MINISTER KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI SCHEME
At least 28128 farmers may be deprived of the benefits of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme as they failed to seed the Adhar Card and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) with their bank accounts despite repeated direction of government.
Ara, 31 May 2023, (RNI): At least 28128 farmers may be deprived of the benefits of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme as they failed to seed the Adhar Card and National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) with their bank accounts despite repeated direction of government.
About 1.74 lakh farmers are getting benefits of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme in Bhojpur district but despite the repeated order of the government 28128 farmers in Bhojpur district failed to seed the Adhar Cards and NPCI with their bank accounts and so they may be deprived of the benefits of the scheme.
The Chief Secretary, Amir Subhani had video conferencing with the Bhojpur District Magistrate Raj Kumar last day in this regard and directed to ensure cent percent seeding of Adhar Cards and NPCI with the bank accounts of the farmers. One lakh 74 thousand and 212 farmers got the KYC but 28128 farmers still have to seed the Adhar Cards and NPCI with their bank account. Under the scheme, each farmer get Rs. 6000 from the centre government every year which is credited in the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments.
At least 15916 of 19531 farmers in Ara block got their KYC while 17988 of 20995 in Piro block, 14090 of 17037 in Shahpur block, 12888 of 15759 in Badahara block, 12617 of 15301 in Jabdishpur block, 12608 of 14725 in Tarari block, 12023 of 14286 in Udwantnagar block, 8077 of 9738 in Koelwar block, 8556 of 9622 in Sahar block, 8222 of 9444 in Bihia block, 7775 of 9206 in Charpokhari block, 7210 of 8827 in Sandesh block, 4476 of 5448 in Gadhani block and 3638 of 4293 in Agiaw blok in Bhojpur got their KYC but 28128 farmers in all the 14 blocks are yet to get the KYC.
Bhojpur DM Raj Kumar said that the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) has been directed to ensure hundred percent NPCI of farmers in Bhojpur district so that they may get benefits of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. The National Payments Corporation of India is an umbrella organization for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India and is an initiative of the Reserve Bank of India.
