159 LUXURY VEHICLES CAUGHT USING REGISTRATION NUMBERS OF MOTORCYCLES IN ROHTAS DISTRICT

SASARAM--------------------------Luxury vehicles with registration numbers of motorcycles are plying on the roads in Rohtas district and the matter came out of closet in the Speed Gun Trekking on NH-02.

With a view of check over speed of vehicles on different roads on NH-02, trekking of vehicles is going on with speed gun. During the trekking, the speed gun detected 159 luxury vehicles which are running roads on NH-02 with the registration Number of motorcycles and made the photographs of these luxury vehicles available to the District Transport Office (DTO) and it was confirmed when the department slapped fine on them but the department withdrew the order of penalty because these penalties might be slapped on the owners of motorcycles and they may be in soup. The officials of the department speculate that these luxury vehicles might be stolen. The officials said that when the registration numbers were fed in the e-posh machine for slapping penalty, the fraud detected.

The photographs sent by the Rohtas SP also showed the four wheelers but their registration numbers are of motorcycles when process started to slap fine.

Department sources said that the police department trekked with speed gun at least 2506 vehicles running very fast on NH-02 from January 2023 to July 2023 and slapped a fine of Rs. 95.17 lakh on 1928 vehicles while 159 vehicles were found using registration numbers of motorcycles.

Rohtas District Transport Officer (DTO) Ram Babu said that the speed gun caught 159 luxury vehicles running with over speed on NH-02 that were using registration numbers of motorcycles and added legal action would be taken against the owners of such vehicles.
