1020 LIT OF IMFL AND A TRUCK SEIZED, THREE LIQUOR SMUGGLERS ARRESTED
Bhojpur police seized 1020 litre of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 17 cartons worth about lakhs of rupees and a truck and arrested three liquor smugglers.
Ara, 5 March 2023, (RNI): Bhojpur police seized 1020 litre of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) packed in 17 cartons worth about lakhs of rupees and a truck and arrested three liquor smugglers. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Jagdishpur police station in this regard under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Abhishek son of Kamalraj of Nauradhar of Sirmaur district under the same police station, Sanjeev Bhagat son of Bahadur of Nnaaza village under Kumarsen police station of Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh and Chandrashekhar Chaupal of Sikaria village under Madhepura police station in Madhepura district of Bihar. The police seized three mobiles from them.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that he got information that big consignment of IMFL was being smuggled to Bhojpur. He at once formed a police team under Jagdishpur SDPO Rajeev Chandra Singh and directed to launch vehicle checking drive near Toll Plaza at Jagdishpur on Ara-Mohania NH-30. The police during vehicle checking drive, seized 1020 litre of IMFL packed in 17 cartons and loaded in a truck and arrested three liquor smugglers.
The SP further said that Chandrashekhar Chaupal of Madhubani district in Bihar is a big agent of liquor who supplied IMFL to other districts. During interrogation, he revealed several names who are involved in sale and purchase of IMFL.
