Additional District and Session Judge VII, Sasaram Civil Court Dashrath Mishra awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on Vivek Tiwari in connection with outraging modesty of a teenage girl. The court also ordered the District Legal Service Authority to pay Rs. 2.5 lakh to the victim under Victim Resistance Act.
Sasaram, 20 April 2023, (RNI): Additional District and Session Judge VII, Sasaram Civil Court Dashrath Mishra awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on Vivek Tiwari in connection with outraging modesty of a teenage girl. The court also ordered the District Legal Service Authority to pay Rs. 2.5 lakh to the victim under Victim Resistance Act.
Special Public Prosecutor Heera Pratap Singh said that Vivek Tiwari of Gopalpur Kargahar vilalge and cousin brother of the teenage girl, finding her all alone in the house, outraged her modesty on April 10, 2017 and videographed the whole incident. He raped her for about two years showing the video and with a threat to make it viral on social media. At last the girl lodged a named FIR with the police under Natwar police station against her tormentor Vivek Tiwari in the year 2019. After institution of FIR, the police swung into action and started investigating the matter and submitted charge sheet in the court.
After hearing both the parties, the court convicted Vivek Tiwari and awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment to him and also slapped a fine of Rs. 10,000 on him.
