Ara, 1 March 2023, (RNI): Additional District and Session Judge VI, Ara Civil Court, Arbind Kumar Singh awarded rigorous 10 years imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs. 50,000 on a rapist Mahavir Yadav.
SPP Saroj Kumari said that a minor girl of dalit community had gone to a cowshed to collect cow dung on January 3, 2021 in a village under Ayar police station when Mahavir Yadav came and closed the gate of the cowshed and also outraged her modesty. When she raised alarm, the family members rushed to the spot and nabbed Mahavir Prasad and handed him to police. Later a named FIR was lodged with the police under Ayar police station in this regard.
After hearing both the sides, the ADJ VI convicted Mahavir Yadav and awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and also slapped fine of Rs. 50,000 on him.
